On September 21, 1993, we hired The Greenspan Co./Adjusters International to represent our interests on our $700,000 building fire. You assigned Arnie Abramson, SPPA, of your firm to handle our claim. Not only was Arnie professional, courteous, and always there for us, he knew the Insurance company's concerns and questions and had the answers for them before they were posed to us.
We recovered all the costs on the business interruption claim and repairs of the equipment caused by the electric outage. If you personally were not involved in this claim, NTS would not have been able to recover what we did, since the insurance company's position was that the electrical outage was an act of God and not covered by the policy. The position you took with the insurance company was clearly brilliant and they backed off their non-coverage position with only a small battle.
Undoubtedly, it was your guidance and assistance that enabled Injectron Corporation to recover the maximum amounts under policies. Your thorough review and interpretation of our policies, costs and potential continuing costs allowed us to recover damages that we would not have otherwise been able to identify.
Your ability to interpret all the details of our policy and to creatively calculate our loss allowed us to take full advantage of the policy value. To say the least, I was extremely impressed with how quickly you were able to cut through the bureaucracy and negotiate a prompt settlement. Accordingly, we were able to minimize our recovery time and re-open for business within a few days; and yet still realize a substantial settlement.
I have been a business owner for many years and had never suffered a major fire before until a fire destroyed our Healdsburg production facility...As you know, our claim was not easy as it involved complex issues relating to co-insurance. We also had to convince the carrier as to the merits of our proposed temporary production facility. You navigated us through these matters with aplomb. Your know-how and experience of the other complex aspects of the claims process including business personalpProperty, temporary expenses and business income allowed us to receive the most money available under our policy. Your wisdom helped our company move past this terrible fire loss.
Prior to retaining Adjusters International, State Farm had estimated our loss to be substantially below the deductible, $400,000.00. Through your efforts and Adjusters International, we were able to secure a settlement in excess of $1,700,000.00. With these funds, we were not only able to take care of the earthquake repairs, but were also able to upgrade other areas of our building that State Farm was unwilling to pay for prior to your involvement. You kept the Board adequately informed and were able to fulfill your promises with respect to timeframes and dollar amounts…I realize now that there are numerous technical issues that we, as homeowners, are not qualified to address directly with State Farm. You more than earned your fee. Not only did you triple the amount of our settlement, you eliminated a lot of stress and time that we would have had to go through in dealing directly with State Farm.
You did a masterful job interpreting our business interruption, loss of earnings, and contents claims. Without your guidance we would never have realized the financially advantageous resolution that we did. You dealt diplomatically and sensitively with representatives of our insurance company, and you always obtained partial payments when we needed them. You were always available for us and very congenial to work with.
If it had not been for Gregg's persistence, the City would not have been afforded the benefits that were received from contracting with The Greenspan Co./Adjusters International... I would like to recognize Paul Migdal for his positive attitude, expertise, management skills, responsiveness, and his attention to detail. The same goes for Heather Connell who worked through what seemed like an infinite number of small items to assure that all treasures that could be restored were and for those that could not, to assure the City was justly compensated. I would also like to acknowledge Jim Warren who worked diligently making several trips to Modesto to ensure that the structure was thoroughly documented. His efforts laid the foundation for an excellent "like, kind and quality" appraisal from The Greenspan Co./Adjusters International's engineering consultant... What is most appreciated is that all these activities occurred with very little of my time being spent on oversight. I trusted Paul to get the job done in a timely manner with a positive outcome and he accomplished this goal... Although I was skeptical in the beginning, it did not take long for me to realize that the City made the right decision in contracting The Greenspan Co./Adjusters International's services.
